  1. Ouch! If you liked Lizee, you'll love Sundberg. She even looks and talks like her. The same meaningless and fuzzy buzzwords too.

  2. Thanks for sharing. I think these videos are a great resource -- not too long, but enough to get an idea of what issues are important to the candidates.

  3. Zerby asks for our vote...Scott, you already won! or don't you know that?

  4. After viewing these, it was probably fortunate the LWV forum was cancelled - saved us the pain of listening to 45 min. of more of the same. Zerby touts he ran against an incumbent and won .. while not untrue, that was in 1998 when he first ran for office with Lizee and Love.

  5. After watching these videos, apparently, (at least for these candidates), the two most pressing issues facing Shorewood are AIS and trails. Seriously?

While AIS is an important issue, if these folks really want to have a significant affect, they should be running for state office. Shorewood has neither the budget nor authority to have any meaningful impact on the solution.

Like Miss America contestants stating they are for “World Peace”, it appears that candidates for Shorewood council feel they must state they are for “Trails”. Conceptually a grand idea, but retrofitting a nearly built out city without breaking the bank is not likely. The concept of partnering with other government entities is mentioned as a financial solution, but those are also our tax dollars. That’s like taking money from our left pocket instead of our right.

No mention of the money pit that is the South Shore Center. No mention of solutions to some of the highest sewer bills in the state. No mention of the impending shortfalls in several capital funds.

    AIS and trails.

    Seriously?

  6. Welcome back Lomah!! I appreciate the way you point out the obvious. Your analysis is spot on. You should have run for mayor.

  7. Trails?
Well, with trails, either you take away from the existing highways,or seize private property through eminent domain. No one is going to sell part of their property for a trail unless it for a king's ransom.
    AIS?
Osgood tells us it is bad. All I know is that the lake is as clean as it has ever been, and those people who speed around in ridiculously large inboard boats are thinking twice about things, with Zebra Mussels clogging their intakes.
