City Engineer Resigns
10/27/12
James Landini, City Engineer since 2007, has resigned. The reports received by the Insider did not give any reason nor indication of what the City plans to do about the opening.
Agreed. Council must use due diligence and research cities of similar size plus being fully developed.
Since we already pay outside engineering firms to do feasibility studies and the like ... wouldn't it make sense that we contract for part-time help vs. hire a full-time employee? We've done it before !!
Another Insider "prediction" comes to pass...
ReplyDeleteThis would be a good time to see if other cities our size even have a full-time engineer. I suspect many contract out.

It would be nice to have an engineer on board. Lots of things they could do. Maybe a lesser qualified staff could be let go instead?
ReplyDeleteShorewood already has an engineer on the pay roll: Larry Brown.
DeleteGood luck to him! He never seemed comfortable here.
