If you haven't seen one of the new signs at Shorewood's borders, you haven't been out of the house or are blind. They're Huge! The Insider has traveled worldwide and has never seen a sign announcing that one is entering a city that is the size of the new signs.
Readers should recall that the signs are Council Member Zerby's latest pet project. It may be that the only thing in Shorewood larger than these signs is Zerby's ego.

Great post! We are laughing our heads off! Thanks for the good humor. I predict a gawker's slow down this evening in Shorewood with people rerouting their trips home to catch a gander. Post a picture.

ReplyDeleteHideous. A pathetic contrast to Deephaven's signs, which are subdued, elegant, and historic. The Gang of Four has struck again. Is there some way to get Zerby's picture off the site page? He is smiling like Alfred E. Neuman.
ReplyDeleteWe put up beautiful signs at our park entrances and follow it up with these butt-ugly billboard size signs as you enter the City? Absolutely embarrassing!! We spent over a million dollars on the CR 19 "gateway" intersection and this is the best design Council could come up with to welcome people driving thru? Poor taste, bad idea, wasteful expense...
